Annually, in the ambit of its statutory activities, the Society
organizes a series of public readings, Lecturae Dantis, delivered
by famous scholars (see also the “History of Society”).
Every year, from the end of May to the beginning of June,
the Society collaborates to the organization of the ceremony for
the “Anniversary of Dante's birth” which takes place in “Palazzo
Vecchio”, and is organized by the City Council of Florence and by
the “Unione Fiorentina”.
During this ceremony, the Society makes
known the name of the Dante's scholar or translator and the City
Council of Florence awards a gold metal to him.
During the year the Società Dantesca Italiana promotes various
initiatives (such as conventions, study meetings, etc.).
