34 - Study of Epicyclic Train
Codex Atlanticus, f. 77 v

The large wheel contains three smaller ones. The lerge one and the smaller central one are pivoted at the same point. The pin is square for the width of the smaller one and then becomes round so that this can turn in the opposit direction to the large one. The other two wheels are pivoted on the face of the large wheel and are thus " led " around the central one in an anti-clockwise direction.
